Bulgaria Industrial Output Rebounds In December

Bulgaria's industrial production increased from last year in December, after contracting for three months in a row, data released by the National Statistical Institute showed Thursday.

Industrial production increased a working-day adjusted 4.1 percent on an annual basis in December, reversing declines of 2 percent and 4.4 percent seen in November and October respectively.

The rebound was driven by a 9.2 percent growth in the production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply. The manufacturing sector recorded a 2.3 percent year-on-year gain, while mining production plunged 7.4 percent.

On a monthly basis, the seasonally adjusted industrial production increased at a faster rate of 2.4 percent in December than 1.8 percent in the previous month, data showed.
