Denmark's retail sales declined for a second consecutive month in January, data from Statistics Denmark revealed Thursday.
Retail sales declined 0.8 percent month-on-month in January, following a 0.2 percent drop in December.
Sales of food and other groceries fell 0.3 percent from a month earlier. Trade in clothing and accessories were down 4.2 percent. Sales of other consumer goods slipped 0.4 percent.
Compared to January last year, total retail sales fell 1.6 percent. This was, however, weaker than a 3.6 percent annual decline reported in December.
