The Board of Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) Friday approved appointment of Michel Combes as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1. Combes will also join the Board of Directors, subject to shareholders approval, at the Alcatel-Lucent annual general meeting.
Michel Combes previously served as CEO of Vodafone Europe and was later appointed to the Board of Vodafone Plc. He has also held the positions of Chairman and CEO of TDF. Prior to that, he was CFO and Senior EVP of France Telecom.
The company also announced appointment of Jean Monty as the Vice-Chairman of the Board, effective immediately.
Jean Monty previously served as Chairman and CEO of Bell Canada Enterprises . He then joined Nortel Networks Corp. as President and COO, and was later promoted to CEO.
