Indonesia's President Nominates FinMin As Central Bank Chief

Indonesia's President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono nominated Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo as the new central bank governor.

Martowardojo will replace Darmin Nasution as Bank Indonesia governor when his term end in May. Nasution was expected to be renominated for another term.

Martowardojo, who is also a well known banker, was the only candidate proposed for the post. A team of lawmakers will perform a 'fit and proper' test on Martowardojo before appointment.
