Barnes & Noble Inc. (BKS) announced Monday morning that its Board of Directors has received notice from Leonard Riggio, Chairman of the Board, that he plans to propose to purchase all assets of the company's retail business.
Barnes & Noble gapped up Monday and climbed higher around midday. The stock ended the day with a gain of 1.55 at $15.06, with volume at a 10-month high. Barnes & Noble rose to its highest level since early January and re-crossed both its 50 and 200-day moving averages.
