United States Cellular Posts Q4 Loss - Quick Facts

United States Cellular Corp. (USM) Tuesday reported fourth-quarter loss of $39.6 million or $0.47 per share, compared to profit of $2.8 million or $0.03 per share in the same period last year.

On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.01 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Operating revenues totaled $1.12 billion, up from $1.10 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $1.13 billion.

Service revenues totaled $1.01 billion, down from $1.03 billion last year.

Postpaid Average Revenue Per User, or ARPU, improved 2 percent to $53.92 from $52.62 last year.

Postpaid churn was 1.67 percent, compared to 1.48 percent.

Looking ahead to the fiscal 2013, the company projects consolidated service revenues in the range of $3.77 billion to $3.89 billion. Analysts cyurrently expect full-year revenues of $4.47 billion.
