Expeditors International Of Washington Q4 Profit Decreases On Higher Expenses

Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. (EXPD) reported that its fourth-quarter net earnings attributable to shareholders decreased to $84.21 million or $0.40 per share from $92.84 million or $0.43 per share last year.

Total revenues increased to $1.53 billion from $1.50 billion last year. Although revenues increased year-over-year, higher operating expenses resulted in the company reporting a lower operating income for the quarter.

On average, 19 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.43 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude speical items. Analysts expected revenue of $1.51 billion for the quarter.
