Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. (BIO) reported net income for the fourth quarter of $47.5 million or $1.65 per share, compared to $59.2 million or $2.08 per share for the year-ago quarter.
The results include a one-time gain of $4.3 million resulting from the sale of real property.
Fourth quarter rose 4.3% to $573.8 million from $550.2 million a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.34 per share on revenue of $558.68 million for the fourth quarter.
Fourth-quarter gross margin was 55.9% compared to 56.5% during the same quarter in 2011.
