Calgary, Canada-based Trican Well Service Ltd. (TCW.TO) on Tuesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of C$7.7 million or C$0.05 per share, compared to a profit of C$114.9 million or C$0.78 per share in the prior-year quarter.
Adjusted loss was C$5.4 million or C$0.04 per share, compared to a profit of C$117.9 million or C$0.80 per share last year.
On average, 15 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of C$0.04 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Meanwhile, revenues dropped to C$485.9 million, from C$695.2 million in the prior year, while analysts expected to see revenues of C$557.28 million.
