Optimer Pharmaceuticals Inc. (OPTR) announced Wednesday morning that its Chairman, Dr. Henry McKinnell, was appointed as Chief Executive Officer. The Board also announced that it has commenced a process to explore a full range of strategic alternatives.
Optimer Pharmaceuticals gapped open higher Wednesday and climbed in early trade, but settled into a narrow range for the majority of the session. The stock closed up by 1.41 at $12.13 on the highest volume of the year. Optimer broke out to over a 4-month high.
