MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA.TO), a provider of essential information solutions, Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net earnings of C$12.6 million or C$0.40 per share, compared with C$29 million or C$0.91 per share last year.
Results for the latest quarter included, among other items, business acquisition costs of about C$11 million, and share-based compensation expense of C$11.6 million.
Excluding items, operating earnings for the quarter totaled C$40.6 million or C$1.27 per share, compared with C$31 million or C$0.97 per share a year ago.
