Dynavax Technologies Corp. (DVAX) Friday reported a wider fourth-quarter net loss of $20.5 million or $0.11 per share, compared to $4.3 million or $0.03 per share last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated loss of $0.08 per share. Analyst estimates typically exclude one-time items.
Revenues for the quarter was dropped to $1.8 million from $11.4 million last year. Dynavax said its collaboration revenue last year was higher due to the recognition of certain milestones achieved under Dynavax's partnership with GlaxoSmithKline. Analysts estimated revenues of $6.91 million for the period.
Research and development expenses increased to $12.5 million from $11.6 million last year, due to growth in the organization associated with manufacturing and regulatory activities for Heplisav.
