Sagent Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SGNT) Tuesday announced the approval and launch of Zoledronic Acid Injection 4 mg, the generic form of the bisphosphonate Zometa, in a latex-free plastic vial.
According to IMS data for the 12 months ending January 2013, the U.S. market for Zoledronic Acid Injection 4 mg approximated $606 million.
Zoledronic Acid Injection 4 mg is indicated for the treatment of hypercalcemia of malignancy, patients with multiple myeloma and patients with documented bone metastases from solid tumors, in conjunction with standard antineoplastic therapy.
