DryShips Inc. (DRYS) Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net loss of $129.8 million or $0.34 per share, as compared to $6.2 million or $0.02 last year.
Excluding special items, DryShips' net loss for the quarter was $59.9 million or $0.15 per share. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected a loss of $0.11 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenues dropped to $282.9 million from $328.2 million last year. Eight analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $294.3 million for the quarter.
