Medifast Inc. (MED) reported fourth quarter adjusted EPS of $0.28 after the close Thursday, up from $0.08 in the prior year period. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.25. The company expects to report first quarter EPS of $0.32 to $0.35 and between $1.70 and $1.80 for the full year 2013. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $0.45 and $1.76.
Medifast gapped open sharply lower Friday and is now down 2.02 at $22.38 on above average volume. The stock has fallen below a 1-month range and has set a 7-month low.
