VeriFone Systems Inc. (PAY) announced after the close Monday that Douglas G. Bergeron is stepping down as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors, effective March 12. VeriFone's Chairman, Richard McGinn, has been named Interim CEO, while Leslie Denend has been named Interim Chairman. The stock is now up 1.69 on 365K shares.
VeriFone Systems rose above Monday's range going into the close and finished up by 0.30 at $20.46. The stock finished at the upper end of a 2 1/2 week range.
