Romania's merchandise trade deficit decreased from the previous month in January, data released by the National Institute of Statistics showed Tuesday.
The trade deficit declined to EUR300.8 million in January from EUR460.2 million in December, the agency said.
Export of goods increased 6.1 percent on an annual basis to EUR3.7 billion in January. Month-on-month, shipments climbed 18 percent.
The value of imports advanced 1.3 percent annually to EUR4 billion. Compared to December, external purchases decreased by 0.7 percent, data showed.
