Croatian Inflation Weakens In February

Croatia's consumer price inflation slowed in February after rising in the previous month, latest data showed Thursday.

The consumer price index increased 4.9 percent year-on-year in February, slower than 5.2 percent growth recorded in January. In December, the inflation rate was 4.7 percent.

Food prices rose 5.6 percent annually, while clothing and footwear prices decreased 4.2 percent. Costs of housing and utilities were higher by 11.37 percent from February 2012. There was a 1.9 percent gain in transportation costs.

On a monthly basis, the consumer price index moved up 0.3 percent in February, after rising 0.1 percent in January, data showed.
