James Breeden, the president of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, issued a statement Thursday afternoon urging caution on robotic hysterectomies. "Robotic surgery is not the only or the best minimally invasive approach for hysterectomy. Nor is it the most cost-efficient," Breeden stated.
Intuitive Surgical (ISRG) fell during the first half hour of trade Friday and slipped further around mid-afternoon. Shares finished down by 30.45 at $459.44 on the highest volume of the year. The stock has been declining for over 2 weeks and set a new low for the year.
