Rovi Corp.'s (ROVI), on Monday reveled that it has agreed to settle certain patent disputes with LG Electronics, Inc. by entering into a multi-year license agreement, that enables LG to use Rovi's patent portfolio across all of its product lines. Terms of the agreement, however, remained undisclosed.
Further, the agreement provides LG a broad right to include certain Rovi solutions in LG consumer electronics products, said Rovi.
Tom Carson, Chief executive of Rovi Corp stated, "From our standpoint, the opportunity to have our technology adopted by a leading major brand like LG will further enhance consumers' ability to connect to, discover and enjoy entertainment content on multiple devices."
