Retail sales in Croatia increased in January after recording a decline in the previous month, data released by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics showed Wednesday.
Retail sales volume, on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, increased 0.3 percent in January, reversing the previous month's 0.5 percent fall.
Sales of food, beverages and tobacco advanced 1.4 percent sequentially during the month, while sales of non-food products, excluding automotive fuel, decreased by 1.4 percent.
At the same time, overall sales, except automotive fuels in specialized stores, dropped 2 percent from December 2012.
On an annual basis, the volume of trade in the retail sector decreased at a faster rate of 5.9 percent in January than 5.1 percent in December, data showed.
