Lithuania Industrial Output Growth Slows Sharply In February

Lithuania's industrial production increased at a significantly slower pace in February, data released by the Department of Statistics showed Thursday.

Industrial production increased 1.6 percent on an annual basis in February, notably slower than the 8.6 percent gain seen in January. In December, industrial output increased 5 percent.

Production in the mining and quarrying sector rose 0.2 percent year-on-year, while manufacturing production decreased by 2.6 percent. There was a 12.7 percent fall in the output of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply during the month.

On a monthly basis, industrial production decreased a seasonally adjusted 3.7 percent in February. During the two months ended February, industrial output increased 5.1 percent from the same period a year earlier, data showed.
