Nike Inc. (NKE) reported third quarter net income from continuing operations of $0.73 per share after the bell Thursday, up from $0.61 per share last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.67.
Nike gapped open sharply higher Friday and climbed throughout the first half of the morning, before settling into a range. The stock finished with a gain of 5.93 at $59.53, with volume at nearly a 9-month high. Nike surged past resistance and set a new high for the year.
