Inflation in Indonesia accelerated more than expected in March, the latest figures from Statistics Indonesia showed Monday.
The consumer price index rose to 5.9 percent in March from 5.31 in February. Economists expected the rate to rise to 5.59 percent.
This was above the central bank's target of 3.5-5.5 percent. Food prices increased 2.04 percent annually in March, data showed.
On a monthly basis, the consumer price index rose 0.63 percent. The core inflation measure increased 4.21 percent in March from a year earlier.
