American Greetings Corp. (AM) announced Monday morning that it agreed to be acquired by a newly organized entity owned by the Weiss Family, for approximately $878 million.
American Greetings gapped open sharply higher Monday and is now up 1.98 at $18.08 on the highest volume in 11 months. The stock has jumped to a new high for the year.
