Bulgaria Industrial Output Growth Slows In February

Bulgaria's industrial production increased at a notably slower pace in February, helped by a marked upturn in the manufacturing sector, preliminary data released by the National Statistical Institute showed Monday.

Industrial production increased a working-day adjusted 5.1 percent on an annual basis in February, after rising 8.3 percent January.

Driving the overall growth, manufacturing production climbed 7.4 percent annually, and there was a 3.6 percent annual growth in the production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply. Meanwhile, production in the mining and quarrying industry decreased 6 percent from a year earlier.

On a monthly basis, industrial production declined 2 percent in February, following the previous month's 0.7 percent increase, data showed.
