Denmark's merchandise trade surplus decreased in February, owing to a fall in exports and an increase in imports, Statistics Denmark said Tuesday.
The seasonally adjusted trade surplus, excluding ships and aircraft, declined to DKK4.1 billion in February from DKK6.5 billion in January.
Total exports declined a seasonally adjusted 3.9 percent month-on-month to DKK50.2 million in February. The value of imports, meanwhile, increased 0.8 percent sequentially to DKK46.1 million.
During the three months ended February, exported edged up 0.2 percent from the preceding three-month period, while external purchases increased by 3.6 percent, data showed.
