Rusiian oil and gas major Gazprom (OGZPF.PK, OGZPY.PK, GAZP) Wednesday said it agreed to buy shares owned by Rosneftegaz at 72 gas distribution companies. The deal worth RUB 25.861 billion, is concluded pursuant to the Russian Government's Directive of November 13, 2010.
Gazprom said the acquisition is part of its efforts aimed at consolidating gas distribution assets. The company aims to provide the reliability and security of gas distribution systems and increase the economic efficiency of the gas distribution business.
