Taiwan-based semiconductor company ChipMOS Technologies (Bermuda) LTD. (IMOS) on Wednesday reported higher revenues for the month of March and its first quarter.
The company's revenue for March grew 6.6 percent to 1.61 billion new Taiwan dollar or $54.1 million from last year's 1.51 billion new Taiwan dollar or $50.8 million. Sequentially, revenue increased 19 percent from the month of February 2013.
Revenue for the first quarter was 4.42 billion new Taiwan dollar or $148.3 million, up 0.8 percent from last year. Sequentially, revenues decreased 9.2 percent, in-line with the company's guidance that revenue would be lower by approximately 9 percent to 13 percent.
According to the company, the first-quarter reflects typical seasonality in the industry related to Chinese New Year and normal customer demand patterns, slightly offset by continued growth in the company's LCD driver and mixed-signal business.
