Frisch's Restaurants Inc. (FRS) reported that its third-quarter net earnings declined to $1.75 million or $0.34 per share, from $2.81 million or $0.57 per share in the same quarter last year. Last year's third quarter included results from discontinued operations, which contributed $1.10 million $0.22 earnings per share.
Earnings from continuing operations for the quarter increased 1.9 percent to $1.75 million, up from $1.71 million in last year's third quarter. Earnings per share from continuing operations were $0.34 per share compared with $0.35 per share last year.
Sales for the quarter declined to $45.77 million from $46.28 million in the prior year quarter.
