Art's Way Manufacturing Co., Inc. (ARTW) reported that its first-quarter net income rose to $819,000 from $193,000 in the same quarter last year, mainly due to net gain realized from the sale of the land near Armstrong. Earnings per share for the quarter were $0.20 up from $0.05 in the previous year.
Consolidated net sales for the quarter were $8.41 million, representing an increase of 33.3% from $6.31 million in the year ago quarter.
