New Zealand CPI On Tap For Wednesday

New Zealand is on Wednesday scheduled to release consumer price data for the first quarter of 2013, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

CPI is expected to rise 0.9 percent on year and 0.5 percent on quarter after adding 0.9 percent on year and falling 0.2 percent on quarter in the previous three months.

Australia will see the February results for the Westpac leading index; in January, the index added 0.3 percent on month.

Japan will provide consumer confidence data for March; in February, the index saw a score of 44.3.

Singapore will release March numbers for imports, exports and trade balance. In February, imports were worth SGD33.85 billion and exports were at SGD36.32 billion for a trade surplus of SGD2.47 billion.

Malaysia will announce inflation figures for March; in February, CPI was up 0.2 percent on month and 1.5 percent on year.
