PepsiCo Inc. (PEP) reported first quarter core EPS of $0.77 Thursday morning, up from $0.69 a year ago. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.71.
PepsiCo gapped open higher Thursday and is now up 3.47 at $82.32 in early trade. The stock has broken out of a 2 1/2 week range and has set a new high for the year.
