Taiwan's industrial production declined at a slower pace in March, data from the Ministry of Economy revealed Tuesday.
Production fell 3.28 percent year-on-year in March, slower than February's 11.61 percent decline. Economists had forecast a 1.8 percent growth in output.
Manufacturing production fell 3.24 percent annually in March, slower than 12.26 percent drop recorded in the previous month. Mining and quarrying output fell 6.98 percent.
Electricity and gas supply slipped 3.64 percent in March compared to the same month last year.
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, overall industrial production fell 2.6 percent following a 0.51 percent decrease in February.
