RadioShack Q1 Loss Widens - Quick Facts

Consumer electronics retailer RadioShack Corp. (RSH) posted a wider first-quarter net loss of $43.3 million, or $0.43 per share, compared with a loss of $8 million, or $0.08 per share in the prior-year quarter. On average, 18 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected loss per share of $0.11 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Total net sales and operating revenues were $849 million, compared with $913 million reported a year back, with comparable-store sales down 5.7%. Analysts estimated revenues of $963.97 million for the quarter. The company said its signature platform generated the fifth consecutive quarter of sales growth in its U.S. company-operated stores.

The company's Chief Executive, Joseph Magnacca, noted that the 100 day plan is on track.
