American National Insurance Co. (ANAT) Tuesday reported first-quarter net income of $59.97 million or $2.23 per share, compared to $45.21 million or $1.69 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
First-quarter operating income, which excludes after tax net realized investment gains, increased to $48.9 million or $1.82 per share from $40.6 million or $1.52 per share in the same period prior year.
Meanwhile, revenues for the quarter was $745.04 million, up slightly from $742.67 million in the year-ago quarter.
