Capacity utilization in the Turkish manufacturing sector increased for the second successive month in April, data released by the Central Bank showed Wednesday.
The unadjusted capacity utilization rate rose to 73.6 percent in April from 72.7 percent in March, marking the second successive increase.
The capacity utilization rate in the investment goods industry was 73.7 percent in April, higher than March's 72.8 percent. In the intermediate goods sector it moved up to 75.6 percent from 73.6 percent.
In the food and beverages industry, meanwhile, the capacity utilization rate declined to 68.5 percent from 68.7 percent in the previous month. The capacity utilization rate in the consumer goods industry dropped to 71.6 from 72.2, data showed.
Separately, the agency said that industrial confidence in Turkey weakened slightly in April, after improving for three months in a row. The corresponding real sector confidence index edged down to 122 in April from 112.1 in March.
