WellPoint Inc. (WLP) reported first quarter EPS of $2.94 Wednesday morning, which topped the consensus estimate of $2.38. Full year 2013 adjusted EPS is expected to be at least $7.80. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $7.78.
WellPoint gapped open sharply higher Wednesday and has taken out the highs of the morning in the last 15 minutes. The stock is now up 4.61 at $73.94. WellPoint has broken out of a 3-week range and has set a new high for the year.
