Buckeye Technologies Inc. (BKI) announced Wednesday morning that it agreed to be acquired by Georgia-Pacific LLC for $37.50 per share in cash, approximately $1.5 billion.
Buckeye Technologies gapped open dramatically higher Wednesday, but moved in a narrow range throughout the session. Shares finished up by 7.93 at $37.86 on the highest volume of the year. The stock leaped to a new high for the year.
