Empire District Electric Co. (EDE) Thursday reported first-quarter profit of $12.6 million or $0.30 per share, up from $9.8 million or $0.23 per share last year.
Revenues for the quarter grew to $93.9 million from $83.3 million last year.
The company declared a quarterly dividend of $0.25 per share, payable June 17 to shareholders as of June 3.
Looking forward to the full year 2013, the company maintained its earnings guidance range of $1.26 to $1.43 per share.
