Viad Corp. (VVI) reported that its first-quarter net income attributable to Viad increased to $8.07 million or $0.40 per share, from $1.03 million or $0.05 per share last year. Viad's income before other items was $8.6 million, or $0.42 per share. Revenues increased to $285.16 million from $268.77 million last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit of $0.24 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
For the second quarter, Viad expects income per share to be in the range of $0.27 to $0.37. Revenue is expected to be in the range of $245 million to $260 million. Analysts expect the company to report second-quarter profit per share of $0.36.
