D.R. Horton Inc. (DHI) reported second quarter net income of $0.32 per share Friday morning, up from $0.13 in the prior year period. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.19.
D.R. Horton gapped open sharply higher Friday and climbed in early trade. Shares advanced further late in the afternoon and finished with a gain of 2.13 at $26.66 on strong volume. The stock broke out past resistance and set a new high for the year.
