Synaptics Inc. (SYNA) reported third quarter adjusted EPS of $0.79 after the close Thursday, up from $0.51 a year ago. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.57.
Synaptics gapped open sharply higher Friday, but pulled back in early trade, before settling into a range. The stock closed up by 3.46 at $42.00 on the highest volume of the year. Synaptics climbed past the upper end of over a 1-month range and set a new high for the year.
