Swiss commodities trader Glencore International Plc. (GLEN.L, GLNCY.PK, GLCNF.PK) said Xstrata confirmed that the High Court of Justice of England and Wales has sanctioned the New Scheme to effect the Merger of Glencore and Xstrata. The new scheme and merger may become effective on May 2, 2013, subject to completion of the court process as set out in the New Scheme Document published by Xstrata.
As per the timetable relating to the merger, the last day of dealings in, and registration of transfers of, and disablement in CREST of, Xstrata shares is April 30, 2013.
