J&J Snack Foods Corp. (JJSF) Monday reported second-quarter profit of $12.7 million or $0.67 per share, up from $10.4 million or $0.55 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.63 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Sales grew 6 percent to $201.3 million from $189.6 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $202.20 million.
