Heartware International Inc. (HTWR) reported a first quarter loss of $0.87 per share Tuesday morning, compared to the loss of $1.33 per share last year. The consensus estimate was for a loss of $1.21.
Heartware International gapped open sharply higher Tuesday and climbed further in the early afternoon. The stock finished up by 11.78 at $97.20 on the highest volume of the year. Heartware International rose past resistance at the highs of the year.
