Samsung's ATIV brand, which used to house convertible devices previously, will now include all of its Windows-based devices. The company said that the convergence is to provide consumers an easier way to understand their product segments. The name will also bring in two new models, Book 5 and Book 6.
Along with the new models, ATIV also comes with SideSync, that will allow users to sync seamlessly and switch working from and to all ATIV notebooks, laptops, tablet devices and PCs with Windows 8 as well as Samsung's Android devices. It will also come pre-loaded on all Windows 8 ATIV models as a desktop app.
Samung's Book 5 is well-stacked with a speedy and sleek design of only 4.19lbs for $900. Most importantly, Samsung has equipped it with rapid boot up and load times that provides better performance. The Ultrabook comes with 6.5 hours of battery life, Intel Core i5-3337U processor, a 14-inch touchscreen display, 24GB of ExpressCache and 4GB RAM, and a 720p HD webcam.
Weighing 5.18lbs, ATIV Book 6 is packed with an Intel Core i7 processor, and a 15.6 fully HD touchscreen with 8GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, that makes it ideal for content creation and multimedia for a price of $1200 with 4.7 hours of battery life.
The company also said that both the models are equipped with pre-installed SideSync technology and are currently available for pre-order.
