Journal Communications, Inc. (JRN) reported net income for the first quarter of $3.8 million or $0.08 per share of class A and B common stock, compared to $2.9 million or $0.05 per share of class A and B common stock for the year-ago quarter.
Total revenue for the first quarter rose 15.1% to $94.70 million from $82.27 million a year ago.
First quarter results were driven by the acquisition of Nashville NewsChannel 5 - WTVF-TV in December 2012.
