Prudential Financial Inc. (PRU) reported first quarter adjusted operating income of $2.28 per share after the bell Wednesday, up from $1.61 per share last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $1.89.
Prudential Financial gapped open higher Thursday and climbed steadily during the first half of the morning. The stock closed up by 4.13 at $63.41 on strong volume and set a new high for the year.
