YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) reported that its first-quarter net loss attributable to the company narrowed to $24.5 million or $2.93 per share from $85.5 million or $12.40 per share last year.
Operating revenue decreased to $1.16 billion from $1.19 billion last year. The company reported lower operating expenses of $1.15 billion, compared to $1.24 billion last year.
On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $5.75 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. Analysts expected revenue of $1.20 billion for the quarter.
